27 March 1905 — En route to Venice
Monday. 27th [March 1905]. Had coffee at 7.30 at Chambery brought to the carriage. Arrived at Turin at 2.30. I had to change from the sleeping car into the Venice train. At Milan abt 6 we only stopped 10 minutes– Rest. car—& very indifferent food as also in the Rest. car before Turin. Reached Venice at 11.30 p.m. dreadfully knocked up– Virginia Du Cane & Sr Malagola met me at the station. I had hardly strength to speak to them & on getting home tumbled into bed.
