13 June 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 13th [June 1905]. Umano came again this morning & talked away happily. He stayed to luncheon with me. I had engaged a cook from Florence & she arrived at 3 today. She is to take the place of Rosa—the wife of a gondolier who has been doing very decently for me since I sent Sear home with the girls in the “Miranda.” I had several people in the eveng Css Rosini, Marchesa Sacripante & Iduna Belmondo. The ladies come in smart out of door hats in this hot season.
