8 July 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 8th [July 1905]. Mattei came this morning with the plans for the arranget of the hospital & what he proposes doing. Later Ola came & went into the matter with me also. She remained to lunch & left soon after. At 4.30 had a visit from Malagola fils & then Miss Holland & the 2 Miss Ruxton– Miss H. very pleasant & affable. I suppose pleased that she has got me to buy the houses for the hospital wh belong to her. At 5.50 Bss Reinelt called for me in gondola & we went to Calle Valaressa & took steamer for the Lido. There her nephew Fritz met us & accompanied us to the shore. We sat about till 7 when the people had arrived whom she had bidden to dinner i.e. Duke & Dss Canevaro, her sister Maria & her niece—Count & Css Leonardi—Signor Rombo & Capt. Luigi. | |
