13 September 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 13th [September 1905]. The scirocco was so incapacitating that I did pretty well nothing all day but read & work—& went out at 5 to the Grand Hotel & picked up Mrs Chapman wife of the Cons: Genl at Florence & took her in gondola to see the Hospital & the Eden’s garden. On getting home was massé by Nurse White. Eda & Monty Alderson arrived by 6.45 train & I took them for a short row after dinner– Splendid night—almost full moon. | |
