5 October 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 5th [October 1905]. Major Fielding came with his sisters in the morning to see the pictures. He is on his way to India as ADC to the new Viceroy Lord Minto. Had an interesting talk with him about the change of Govt there. He seemed to think Lord Curzon did not believe the Home govt would accept his resignation. It is unfortunate this change just at the moment of the visit of the Wales to India. Cav. Arbib brought Prof: Arch: Sardi to introduce him to me to talk of the building of our hospital. Miss Holland is making great difficulties about selling us the property & wishing to put all kinds of conditions & she now in consequence of our inability to make them legally, refuses to sell the smaller cottage to us.
