28 October 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 28th October [1905]. Signor Arbib came to bid me good bye & also Malagola– Ola came about 11—& as I was all packed & ready for the start we sat & talked together while I worked at bead necklaces. Had lunch at 1 & about 2 started for the station. Several friends came to see me off, Mr Harston to bid me goodbye as he will leave the chaplaincy for good next week. The Malagolas mère et fils—Père having left by a train at 2 & mine being 2.40. Olga Mocenigo, Baroness Kuhn, Iduna &c– At last I was off on the long journey & got to Bologna at 7 where Baker & I changed trains & we got into the sleeping car. There was no dining car but we luckily had taken food with us. | |
