3 March 1906 — Grimsthorpe, Nuwara Eliya
Saturday. 3rd [March 1906]. I feel the cold here very much & was not warm in the morning till I had been out for a walk. In the afternoon Barbara gave a large tea party to neighbours & friends in my honor– The names of the guests do not adhere to my memory. They were all very friendly. Afterwards Barbara went out in her rickshaw & Nela & I walked and we all paid a visit to Miss Julia Layard who has a pretty little cottage & a garden full of flowers. Home by dinner time. Mrs Travers dined her husband having returned to the Straits where they live. The wife remains on here for the good of her health.
