4 March 1906 — Grimsthorpe, Nuwara Eliya
Sunday. 4th [March 1906]. There was a heavy white mist in the early morng wh cleared off before we set off at 9.45 to go to church. There were many people at church & good singing & preaching. B. went in rickshaw, Nela & I walked. A Mrs Rose came to call in the afternoon—an American lady who knows Fanny Browning well. She was pleasant & talkative. She said she is not surprised at Fannie’s restlessness—she has always been the same. After tea Nela & I took a long walk down by the Lake in search of plants in the bog but found none.
