11 April 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 11th [April 1906]. I went to morning service in morning. Enquired after Mrs Browning who is ill & went for a moment to the Montalbas & saw Hilda. Walked back to St. Angelo & Mr Wiel accompanied me. We were ferried across by my gondola. Mme Wiel passed thro’ this house to get to hers in Campo San Polo. Having rather a despairing telephone message from Sister B. I went over to the Hospital. Found more patients expected & sister in a fuss. Luckily a nurse had arrived from Rome to help who seemed steady & capable. Helped to arrange one of the paying patient’s rooms.
