12 July 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 12th [July 1906]. A quiet day’s work– At 5 I went out in gondola & paid Pss Borghese a visit. She had with her Signorina Scattoli the pianist who played to us a piece of Chopin’s very brilliantly. I then returned home & started afresh at 6.30. Went to pick up Mrs Ragg & went in gondola to the Lido with her. There we met the Canon & his sister Miss Ragg & we dined I being their guest. There were many Venetians there doing the same. We rowed home altogether about 11 o’cl. No moon but fresh air & very pleasant. | |
