21 July 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 21st [July 1906]. Two young diplomats Lord Lascelles & Mr Cheetham came to see me in the morning and I showed them the pictures. After lunch I worked away at typing the letter & then after tea went off to the Eden’s garden where I had agreed to meet my young friends & from whence I brought them home to dine with me– Mr Woods also came & he was most cheery & amused the others vastly. After they had smoked in the Belvedere I took all three for a row & deposited them at the Grand Hotel.
