Tuesday. 24th [July 1906]. Giuseppe & I worked at getting a bandage roller in order & I took it over to the hospital after I had been to pay Bianca Arbib a visit. She had just returned from Rome where she had been laid up with small pox caught in Tripoli where she had been staying with relations. She says she is the first case cured by the help of green light—nothing but green light being permitted to fall on her during her illness. The General went about with me in the cool evening floating about & talked very agreeably. He dropped me at home at 11–
