16 November 1906 — Stupinigi Palace, Turin
Friday. 16th November [1906]. Still fog which is getting rather depressing– After lunch the Queen said she must leave us to our own devices as she was going to the Station to Turin to meet her mother The Duchess of Genoa who was coming in to Turin from Stresa for the winter. H.M. said a motor was at my disposal should I want one. I asked Mimi Peo if she would go with me to Turin wh she kindly agreed to do. I wanted to see to a sterilizer for our Venice hospital & we found the shop & I ordered one to be sent at once. We went on to do several other commissions & then hurried back to the Castle wh we reached at 6 just as tea had begun to be served. Marchesa Trotti & Duchess Maximo left. Patience played in the evening.
