23 June 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 23rd [June 1907]. It was stormy & most oppressive. Went to morning service. Canon Ragg came to lunch with me. I arranged the plants with Pasquale in the Belvedere. The storm came up just as I was sitting down to an early dinner intending to go to the evening service at the sailor’s institute—so I gave up going. The storm cooled the air very much & the relief was great.
