21 July 1907 — Mezzaratta, Bologna
Sunday. 21st July [1907]. Tea in ones room & wrote– Went into the drawing room & sat outside the window in the garden talking to Ct Taverna & Da Laura till lunch at 12. Rested afterwards till 4. It was looking very stormy & was close & hot. At 5 we wandered into the gardens of the next villa [illegible word] now Villa Brun, into what Da Laura called the “vallone” a charming shady wood of chestnut trees in a kind of chine wh runs down to the distant city. The storm cleared off & it got cooler. Css Zucchini & Prince Ercolani came to dinner & an avvocato looked in in the eveng a neighbour. The Prince a young nice looking youth.
