10 September 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 10th [September 1907]. Charlie spent the morning looking into affairs at Stabto Venice Murano & returned at 12– Nellie & I sat in the studio working. Signor Guggenheim came after lunch to give his opinion & advice on the affairs of the V.M. Nellie & I remained at home working & chatting as it was too hot [to] go out. After lunch Sr Guggenheim came to call & to have a long talk with Charlie & give his ideas on the V.M. subject wh after a long conversation threw no fresh light on the subject. He is a good kind man but too careful lest he should commit himself or his money. Later we went the Wylds & I to Arbib’s garden where we found Avvocato Tabet also & he made a proposition as to the V. Murano wh he said he will go to London to propound. After dinner we went to the Calcina & sat out the water terrace talking with Arbibs who met us there.
