11 October 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 11th [October 1907]. Mrs Royon called & said her husband would like to remain on at the Institute at least for the winter wh is a comfort. Arbib & his niece came—he to see Lady Egerton, she to continue my portrait—she being but a beginner the result if trying. After lunch Siga Pezzè Pascolato came to make acquaintance with Lady Egerton. She is a clever energetic little woman & has done much good work here in the educational line. There was a strike of railwaymen at Turin & Milan yesterday & a general strike is threatened—so Sir Edwin gave up going today to a race at Milan & decided to remain on here. The Raggs came to stay with me.
