27 December 1907 — 3 Savile Row | |
Friday. 27th [December 1907]. I had engaged to go to Tatton to stay with the Egertons & went to the station after lunch– Found I had made a mistake about the train hour & arrived 5 mins: after it had gone– I returned to Savile Row & waited there till the later train & started by one leaving at 5 which reached Knutsford after 9. The Duchess of Buckingham came from the drawing room to meet me in the hall & took me straight up to the bedroom prepared for me. I had some tea there & went to bed at once. | |
