9 January 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 9th January [1908]. Charlie Wyld looked in before lunch to tell me he had had a Venice & Murano meeting this morning. I told him I had telephoned last evening according to his advice declining to sign for Arbib. Lunched alone & then Connie came abt 3. It was so cold & my rheumatic knee hurt me that I did not go out. Connie went out on an errand & returned at 4 & worked at beads & had tea & departed at 6.30. She is going to stay at Canford next Monday for a fortnight at wh she is very pleased. Charlie Wyld dined & stayed the night. I had a nice letter from Marchesa Villamarina saying H.M. Queen Margherita liked the box I sent her for New Year.
