7 February 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 7th [February 1908]. I went to Mr Stear at 11 to have my treatment. On my return at 12 rested till lunch. Monty came to see me at 1.30 & I made him stay to lunch with me & the Wylds. Little Katharine was not well & Nellie & I waited in for the Dr who came at 4.30 so it was too late to go out after he left. Louis Du Cane called. He told me that he hears that Cornelia is going to bring Ivory up to town. I am sorry as he is better when quietly at Canford where he is far happier than elsewhere. Let us hope that it is not true. Baby Katharine did not come down after tea. When Charlie came in at 7 I proposed that we should go to the theatre to liven us up. We telephoned to the Vaudeville Theatre for 3 stalls & went directly after dinner to see “Dear Old Charlie” wh was cleverly acted & very amusing. Hawtrey was well supported & we had a very pleasant evening & laughed very much. The piece is adapted from the French.
