10 February 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 10th February [1908]. Went to my treatment at 10 & back by 11. Rested till lunch time. Mr Somerset Beaumont, Nora Hallé & Connie came to lunch. The latter very nervous & said she feared she is going to have the influenza. Blanche telephoned she would take me out in motor at 3. Had a visit from Mrs Close who told me she was related to Dean & Lady Augusta Stanley & remembered having been taken by them to my mothers partys at Roehampton. Blanche called for me at 3.30 and we went off to leave cards but finally decided to go to see the Winter Exhibition at Burlington House. There are some charming Hogarths & some Reynolds—one a portrait of                the most lovely portrait I ever saw. Blanche deposited me at home at 5. The Wyld child did not come down today having a slight attack of influenza. Bessborough dined with the Wylds & me. Sear the woman I had had before as a job cook came to see me this morning & almost promised me to return to me permanently in the summer—wh I should only be too glad of.
