20 March 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 20th [March 1908]. Woke with headache & remained in bed till the eveng. Blanche telephoned to ask how I was & hearing I was laid up said I must not dine with them tonight wh was a relief. She came to see me before lunch. Elaine Villiers & Connie lunched here with the Wylds & Eda & she came up & paid me a visit. Connie sat with me after lunch & talked over her troubles with her son Ernie. Abt 4 the Dss of Somerset came to bid me farewell & gave me a cheque for £128.10 my share of the sale last week so with cheques I received amounting to £49 I got for the Hospital £178, a good sum– Onie Oranmore came later & had tea with me. Monty came to bid me good bye & then I got up & dined downstairs with Charlie & Nellie & did accounts, wrote notes & packed small things & then went to bed. Eda & Augusta had dined out & on their return the whole party met in my bed room till we parted for the night.
