25 June 1908 — En route to London
Thursday. 25th [June 1908]. Waking at 7 a.m. found we had just arrived at Paris & had tea brought to me. Lunched in the Restaurant Car at 11 at Amiens. Had a good crossing of the Channel & arrived at Charing Cross abt 6 p.m. Blanche sent her electric brougham to fetch me & I went to stay at 17 Cav. Sqr my own house being at the moment let. Blanche was out with Gweneth on my getting there but they soon returned & sat with me in the bedroom while I rested & had some tea. Connie also came. She is in the midst of changing her house 8 Onslow Gardens & is to live at Chester Sqr a much smaller house than the old one & more conveniently placed as being nearer the centre of the town. Blanche & I dined alone, Edward & Gweneth dining out.
