1 July 1908 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Wednesday. 1st July [1908]. My birthday again. How far away are the old days here when we used to have a strawberry feast to celebrate it & my sister Maria’s together, her birthday being on 3rd!! After tea we all walked up to the Keeper’s, i.e. Cornelia, Oscar, Miss Anderson (the secy). We went to the field where the poultry is being reared & then on to look at the site where a new keeper’s lodge is about to be built. There the motor car met us & brought Cornelia & me home. We dined abt 8.45– Out on the terrace after dinner but there were no special lights in the sky. | |
