7 September 1908 — Salce, Belluno
Monday. 7th [September 1908]. I went off for an hour’s walk at 9– Wrote letters on my return—to London about the cook Sear coming out to Venice. Florence my London housemaid sent also to beg she might accompany Sear to Venice as she has a great longing to see it. This is such an extraordinarily intelligent thing from a woman of her class that I wrote & gave her permission to come. Worked at bead chains with Carrie & after tea drove over to Sacchieva to call on the Wiels.
