10 October 1908 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 10th [October 1908]. Visit to the Hospital & came home by 4 as the Duke & Dss of Connaught were arriving at Venice at 4.30 & I wanted to see them pass by in the launch of H.M.S. Aboukir on which they are going to remain while at Venice & in wh they will leave for Malta. Myles Ponsonby is one of the Duke’s ADC & I hope he will come & stay with me—& he telegraphed from the ship to say he will come to me tomorrow. When the launch passed from the station I waved to Myles whom I recognised & the whole party waved back to me. | |
