31 January 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 31st January [1909]. We have a new & most efficient President at San Daniele one Avv. Castellani who is there most days & does his work in a most efficient manner. The last week I have been most mornings to help to give out garments to the profughi wh is a work of time & patience. The chief work is done by Sigra Errera Viginoni a Jewish lady who is indefatigable & methodical. Sa Pezzè has been ill with influenza & has not been able to help. Today Nora Hallé left me after a long visit during which she taught me to enamel & Nela also learnt to paint on copper enamel. | |
