8 April 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 8th [April 1909]. Mmes Waddington & Talleyrand left for Paris by 8 o’cl train & I greeted them in my dressing gown when they left. I went out at 3 to see Angela Reinelt & then to see Mrs Eram who was not in so I paid Miss West a visit & on my return home to tea I found Mrs Eden had come to see me– Sir A. Lyall also came to bid me good bye & said he was leaving Venice tomorrow. I went off to afternoon service as soon as he left & got there very late—only just in time for the sermon– | |
