20 April 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 20th [April 1909]. Had another harrassing day over the Concert. I have borrowed the hospital sandolo for Oscar & Ola to row. I was starting out after lunch to call on Css Albrizzi when we discovered that said sandolo had disappeared. The sandolo boy appeared astonished. As I went by the small canals to Palazzo Albrizzi saw our sandolo tied up at an obscure riva & pounced upon it & brought it home—but—the oars had been carried off! Had my usual evening reception. A good many passing English came to it. | |
