10 May 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 10th May [1909]. Staying with me I have Count Seckendorff & Princess Thurn & Taxis. They arrived last Monday. The two old cousins generally travel together when they come to Italy. The Count busies himself with water colour painting wh he does very well. The Princess accompanies him on long walks—she is very kind & pleasant, dresses well, has a very youthful figure but is very plain in the face. This evening Da Laura Minghetti arrived from Rome to stay with me. She was in Venice with the Bülows when they were here & then returned to Rome to shut up her house for the summer. She is as delightful as ever—80 years of age—good looking & lively. The party consists also of Violet Vivian, Hallam Murray, Lord Stanmore & Ola—7 in all. The house is quite full.
