12 July 1909 — Carlsbad | |
Monday. 12th [July 1909]. Connie & I & Mrs B.J. dined with Mr Cartwright at 1.30 at the Weishaupt hotel & had an excellent meal beginning with Sprudel soup made of the Sprudel waters. Monsig. Stanley dined there also & was most jovial & he & Connie enjoyed their good fare & excellent Austrian wine & threw all the Doctor’s prescriptions to the winds—& we sat talking till nearly 4 when we had to paddle home thro’ the rain. | |
