5 August 1909 — Garry Hill, Bagenalstown, County Carlow
Thursday. 5th [August 1909]. We left Garry Hill, Irène, her mother & I in the motor car & drove to Mt Congreve. Irène had sent her little boy with his nurse by train. We had a lovely drive wh took about 2 hours– Mt C. is a pretty little place on the river Suir. Jack was there & his 2 spinster sisters to receive us. We busied ourselves in the evening with making lavender balls twisted up with coloured ribbon.
