24 October 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 24th [October 1909]. We all went to the morning service in the morning. In the afternoon Nela, Hallam & I went to call on the Johnstons at Madonna dell’Orto & found them sitting in their lovely garden which was full of chrysanthemums. Mr James dined here. I went with Baker to the Sailor’s Inst: service & dined alone on my return. | |
