27 October 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 27th [October 1909]. A most idle day– I did nothing but roam abt and talk to one & another. Did not move out—as it was cold & damp. Clara & Hilda Montalba came to tea & Mrs Curtis, Sir Edwin Egerton joined our party by the 6.45 train. Mr James came to dinner & directly after he & Olga, Corise, Nela & I went to the usual concert of the Sailor’s Inst: Mrs Whitaker & her son were there & all helped in the entertainment. There were lots of sailors present & they were very pleased.
