2 November 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 2nd [November 1909]. Got up for luncheon—being better—but did not go out. Olga sat at home with me– Sr Arbib came to see us & brought the beads for my chain making wh I do at all odd moments of the day. Mrs Whitaker & her son Hugh & Mr Joseph dined with us & the table was laid in the long hall, so as to allow the servants to arrange the buffet in the dining room for the evening reception. Thirteen of the Officers of the German ship Hansa came & also Princess Ratibor who has a son amongst them. | |
