Tuesday. 15th [February 1910]. The poor little baby died today. Mary spent the day with the poor mother. It is very piteous. The child was not quite a year old & had been a very strong, healthy, happy baby. The Bessboroughs were to have dined with me but could not come. My party consisted of the D. & Dss. of Somerset, Sir Arthur & Lady Fanshawe, the Wylds, Col. Grant (who married Lord Rosebery’s daughter), Mr James (pianist) & Mary Alderson– | |
