12 March 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 12th [March 1910]. Princess Stephanie in deep mourning for her father the King of the Belgians & looking rather pale, her husband Ct Lónyay & Bss Reinelt came to luncheon. The food was passable—Meno mala. Mr & Mrs Hellman came in just as they were leaving. She looking very pretty but rather over fine. They are nice people. I went off with Ola to the Hospital to see how N. Christie was getting on now the Matron Chaffey had gone for a holiday. All was well. This morning I went to a committee meeting at the Sailor’s Institute—so this has been a busy day. Pss Stephanie & Ct L. were to have come to dinner but sent word she had a bad headache, so we invited the Malagolas who were pleased to come.
