27 April 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 27th [April 1910]. Quite a windy chilly day. Had a note from Dss Canevaro asking me not to mention to any one what had happened abt Avv. Bertolini—which shows that I am rid of him wh is a comfort. I went out at 4 with the Vivians to call on Angela & then to Mrs Curtis’ where she was anxious we should see Lady Melvilles daughter Maysie Dundas dance a dance she had learnt of Mrs Wordsworth the lady who teaches all the girls in London society now. Dear Mrs Curtis played the piano for Miss Dundas to dance to. It was not particularly pretty. Mrs Hoppin the American lady staying there also sang to the guitar as an accompaniment to the dancing. We came home at 6.30. Gino Franchetti dined with us at 7.30 & went with us to the Sailors Institute to help at the weekly concert wh was thinly attended. He played delightfully.
