21 May 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 21st [May 1910]. Got up as usual to 9 o’cl breakfast. The girls wanting to go to have a picnic on the Lido this evening I went off to the Whitakers to invite them to it & arranged that Hugh W. should go in his motor boat & take some of the young people of the Eden’s party. Mr & Mrs Osborne & Mrs Duff Gordon & meet Ola & the 2 girls there. That Mrs Whitaker & Alick Yorke should come & dine quietly with me. At 5 I took a walk to see the Montalbas who had a large party of people at tea. Then on to Mrs Price to tell her how pleased I was with yesterday’s service. I congratulated Mr Montalba also. Left some cards & walked home. It was a heavy scirocco & very hot. Princess Taxis left me to day at 2.
