15 July 1910 — Salsomaggiore
Friday. 15th [July 1910]. Dr Zoia visited me at 10 & ordered me baths. I took one at 11—the water is strong of iodine & almost red. Lunch at 12—downstairs. Baker made me tea at 4. Wrote. Very hot & a thunderstorm but no rain wh would have been grateful. At 6 took a walk with Baker to explore the place wh is a small imitation of a German Kur ort. It was too hot to go far. Dined at 7.30. Played patience till bed time. Saw no one I knew.
