2 December 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 2nd [December 1910]. I went at 9.30 over to the Giudecca to the funeral service of poor Armida at S. Eufemia– Mr Brown met me there to represent the Committee. The body was brought along the Giudecca on foot—a long & weary business. The hospital of course paid all expenses & the family were very pleased. The service was reverently done but was very long. I lent my gondola to the Matron to follow to the cemetery & I walked home. Luckily it was fine today—having for many days being very wet.
