7 January 1911 — Rome | |
Saturday. 7th [January 1911]. I took a cab & drove out to the Anglo American nursing Home 265 Via Nomentana to see Ola Du Cane where she is now matron. Sat with her a little while & then walked back in time for luncheon with the Queen. At 3 went to my own rooms & did not go out again writing letters. I had a visit from Mara Cappelli who arranged to take me out driving tomorrow morning. At 8.30 to dinner with the Queen. In the evening the Min. for F.A. Marchese San Giuliano came to pay his respects to H.M. I left the place near the Queen clear & slid across to the puzzle table to help Mimi & the 2 gentlemen. To bed at 1. | |
