20 January 1911 — Naples
Friday. 20th [January 1911]. Woke feeling very ill & hardly dragged myself up. Expecting not to leave Naples till afternoon I had arranged with the G. Lombardas to go with them at 10 to see Pss Strongoli’s hospital. I had to tell them when they came that I must go at once on board the “Prince Heinrich” so we parted & I went straight to my berth & there remained the rest of the day. Eda Alderson welcomed me having come straight from England & embarked at Marseilles. We had a smooth but cold voyage & I remained most of the time in my cabin. On Sunday 22 it was a little rough but we managed to dine at table tho’ the fiddles were on.
