4 May 1911 — Paris
Thursday. 4th [May 1911]. Left Paris by 9.50 train & found a crowded train. Splendid passage. There were 3 trains up to London we were fortunate eno’ to get into the first & reached Charing Cross at 5.15. Nela Du Cane met us and we went home to 3 Savile Row in a motor brougham I have taken for the time I shall be in town– Went to dine with the Bessboroughs at 17 Cavendish Square & there met Rita Longfield, Myles Ponsonby’s fiancée a very type of a lovely English girl—gentle, pretty & quiet. They will make a very pretty couple. Nela is staying with me for the season & Eda remains for a few days.
