Sunday. 16th [July 1911]. Princess Christian had notified to me thro’ Nela that she wished to dine with me today. As she had only given me a couple of days’ notice and as all fashionable people carefully arrange to be out of town from Saty till Monday it was very difficult to get anyone to meet her & Princess Victoria. However I gathered in Sir Edward Poynter, Sir Arthur Fanshawe & so with the Wylds, Nela & myself we made up a little party of small & pleasant. | |
