18 October 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 18th [October 1911]. The three girls went off to Castelfranco to see the picture by Giorgione. I wrote letters– Sir Edwin & I had a quiet little lunch together & talked much over the Italians in Tripoli about wh he is very anxious—fearing Italy has embarked on a harder nut than she can digest. I went out in gondola at 3 to the Piazza. It was a superb day. Found the girls returned when I got in at tea time having enjoyed themselves. | |
