4 May 1912 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 4th [May 1912]. In afternoon I took Monsigr Stanley, Helen B.J. & Miss Dundas out in gondola. We went into the San Sebastian church & on to the Redentore church– At each church Monsigr was made much of, the Parroco was fetched who proceeded to kiss his ring. From the Redentore we went into the Whitaker garden on the Giudecca looking towards San Clemente where we had tea. After dinner nearly all the party went out in gondola to see the illuminations in the Piazza wh will continue all this month on Saturdays & Sundays. | |
