17 September 1912 — Salce, Belluno
Tuesday. 17th [September 1912]. A magnificently fine morning at last. We gladly sat out in the sunshine. After tea we drove with Mrs Eden into Belluno & beyond on the other side of the Piave to call on a Sigra Busati whose husband is a Professor & lives at Milano. Sigra Busati is still young, nicely dressed & more a woman of the world than Venetian women of that class. Nela & I walked back from Salce partly by the pathway between the fields.
