18 September 1912 — Salce, Belluno
Wednesday. [18th September 1912]. Fine again all the morning but after lunch clouds threatened. Mrs Eden drove us over to Socchieva where we had tea with the Wiels. Afterwards we went to gather moss in a field near by where it grows in profusion & shows the dampness of the place. Mrs E. drove home—Mme Wiel, Mrs Portman & Lord de W. accompanied Nela & me on our road back to show us another road lower down in the valley—they left us halfway & returned home. Nela & I went back a round about way as it was yet early.
