8 October 1912 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 8th [October 1912]. A dreadful sick headache kept me in bed all day. Kind Miss Chaffey came over in the afternoon to succor me & slept the night here—tho’ I was much better by then. Corise entertained for me Mr & Lady Evelyn Baring & Css de Pourtalès who dined, & Mr Pember—& a good many people who came in the evening. Sir Edw Poynter arrived to stay with me. | |
